Itagaki And Tecmo Settle Lawsuit

Former Team Ninja boss reaches ìmutualî agreement and "harmonious" settlement with his ex employer.

Former Team Ninja head Tomonobu Itagaki has settled a lawsuit with ex-employer Tecmo out of court.

The suit dates back to June 2008, when Itagaki announced plans to resign from his post and sue parent company Tecmo for “unpaid completion bonuses”.

Itagaki said in a statement this week that he and Tecmo had reached a "mutual" agreement and that the settlement was "harmonious", according to Kotaku.

"I am currently planning a totally new title," added the former Ninja Gaiden director, "and I am eagerly awaiting the day I am able to announce it."

Itagaki wasn’t the only Tecmo employee to take issue with the company in 2008. Also in June of that year, two Tecmo employees launched a class-action suit on behalf of 300 of the publisher's staff demanding compensation for wages that went unpaid while employees were placed on a "flexible hours" working scheme.

Then Tecmo president Yoshimi Yasuda resigned in the wake of the lawsuits, although the official company line was that he left his post for "personal reasons".
