Nintendo’s DSi comfortably held the top spot on the Japanese hardware chart during the week ended September 27.
Sales of Nintendo’s newest handheld were down by 2,500 units week-on-week, but were over 23,000 ahead of second placed PS3, which saw a decline of 11,100 units.
The PSP, which could see a boost in the coming weeks following an October 1 price cut, edged out Nintendo’s older DS to hold third place.
Wii slipped to fifth following a weekly drop of 5,000 sales, while Xbox 360 and PS2 again rounded off the chart with little change in the weekly sales of either console, according to data from Media Create.
DSi – 63,342
PS3 – 39,960
PSP – 17,334
DS Lite – 15,057
Wii – 11,731
Xbox 360 – 4,854
PS2 – 2,347
On the software front, Mii collecting game Tomodachi Collection jumped back to the top of the chart ahead of the now two million-plus selling Pokémon games Heart Gold and Soul Silver.
DS games took half of the top ten places, while Halo 3: ODST for Xbox 360 debuted in ninth place with 30,000 sales, around half the total managed by Halo 3 in its debut week nearly two years ago, reports Kotaku.
