Japan: New Kingdom Hearts Dethrones Mario Bros. Wii

Square EnixĂ­s latest Kingdom Hearts title shifts 446,000 copies to debut atop the latest Japanese software chart.

Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep sold 446,000 copies to debut atop the Japanese software chart during the week ended January 10.

The PSP game’s sales total – achieved in just two days of availability - was more than double that managed by former bestseller New Super Mario Bros. Wii, which dropped a place to second.

Tomodachi Collection also fell one spot to third, Wii Fit Plus was up one to fourth, while The Legend Of Zelda: Spirit Tracks rounded off the top five.

Final Fantasy XIII was down two places to sixth and Pokemon Heart Gold / Soul Silver dropped one to seventh, ahead of Inazuma Eleven 2: Threat of the Invaders, Wii Sports Resort and Phantasy Star Portable 2.
