Nintendo has sold three million DSi consoles in Japan.
According to new Enterbrain figures, domestic sales stood at 3,062,920 units as of August 2, 2009.
The DSi launched in Japan on November 1 last year, meaning the system hit the sales milestone in nine months, reports Famitsu (via Andriasang).
The DSi enjoyed a significant sales boost last month following the simultaneous release of a red coloured system and Square Enix’s Dragon Quest IX, and has remained at the top of the weekly Japanese hardware charts ever since.
Nintendo's latest quarterly financial report, released last week, revealed that worldwide DSi sales totalled 3.65 million during the three months ended June 30. Nintendo said that the system, which launched outside of Japan in April 2009, has sold 6.68 million units globally life-to-date.
The DSi seems to be a lovely wee machine, but I can't justify paying over £100 for one.

What is it with these things? Nintendo just has hit a goldmine with every one of their handhelds...ever. Don't mention the virtual boy, that wasn't portable, not really.
This is my last comment, I see I'm taking up almost all of the last ten posts...I hate that.
