Keita Takahashi, creator of cult sensation Katamari Damacy and more recently Noby Noby Boy, has left his post at Namco Bandai.
Confirmed by Play, his departure from the publisher doesn’t come as a great surprise. Earlier this year he told OPM: "I'm actually not thinking about a future in games. It's not that I'm not interested in them, but I want to try lots of different things.” Last week he also referred to Namco Bandai as a “so-so company”.
In fact, Takahashi said as far back as 2005 that he wanted to quit making games and focus on real world play environments. He’s currently making a playground as part of a redesign of a park in Nottingham, UK.
