“Today, while testing the application, Life with PlayStation was available for download temporarily, by mistake”
Sony’s Life with PlayStation application, a free information service offering “a variety of interactive content and channels”, was briefly made available on Wednesday by mistake, before being pulled by Sony.
A number of users reported getting the service up and running before Sony realized the errors of its ways and yanked it.
“Today, while testing the application, Life with PlayStation was available for download temporarily, by mistake,” the company told us. “We will make [an] official announcement for the service launch shortly.”
The service, which was originally expected to launch in July, was delayed until August due to a “few procedural matters”, before being pushed back again due to some “paperwork” issues.
When Life with PlayStation does launch it will be accessible directly from the PS3’s XMB and offer “updates on news and weather on a visually stunning and interactive global map”.
