I'm pleased that naruto broken bond is getting nominated, as it is a suprisingly good game, with solid platforming gameplay that uses the naruto franchise well and intuitively.
plus the fighting system is solid, and it actually looks alot like the anime itself.
i do love this game, even if i am a bit of a narutard.
Is it worth getting a PS3 just for LittleBigPlanet? Seems like it's the type of gameplay experience that can only begun to be understood by actually playing around with it.
Jarrad getting a PS3 for LBP:
I'd say yes, but primarily for the online community as the singleplayer campaign is quickly finished. And this really is a game, that is best appreciated with 1-3 other human players. In my case, I've been playing it with my 5-year old son online with a friend and his 5-year old son. Nothing beats that kind of entertainment, no matter the game, but LBP gives you more space to play around in and just have fun. So, as an entertainment tool, you cannot really find anything quite like it, but you really oughtn't play it alone.
Unrelated, it's SOO nice to finally see a masterpiece like Boom Blox get some recognition - especially considering how little "real" games Wii fans has seen in 2008.
Thanks. I didn't know it was that accessible or that multiplayer was that essential.
No Xbox exclusives for overall game of the year.....PITY !
Ryda
Left 4 Dead was a 360 exclusive (at least exclusive from the PS3). Would you consider Halo 1, Halo 2, and Gears of War 1 NOT 360 exclusives since they came out on PC also?
Nice list for all the categories. I did see a bit of a trend though with about 7 games monopolizing the nominations. Glad to see Braid on the list, that game is my personal pick for GotY.
Well now that you put it that way there not really exclusives, there out on another system even if its PC its still not exclusive, If somethings exclusive to the PC it doesnt come out on Xbox does it no it stays exclusive to the PC keyword EXCLUSIVE. Wow you guys sure are getting the wool pulled over your eyes payin for online, significant hardware failures, unexclusive exclusives you guys do know that Sony makes PCs dont you so ppl are playing Xbox "exclusives" on Sony hardware I wonder does that mean it came out for Sony to ........ I wonder ? off topic but I was just on a forum discussing Xbox live and having to pay even though like 90 % of the games are P2P and lag badly with PSN most games are on dedicated servers and never lag ex Warhawk 32p 0lag both R1 and R2 40 and 60 0 lag many others and its 100% free what the hell are you guys payin for and what is host advantage we dont have nething like that on PSN LOLOLOL.
not to mention all valve games are 'ported' rather than developed for PS3. they run piss-poor and are buggy as hell on the PS3.
This year is looking even worse. The 360's 2009 line-up is piss-poor.
I find it funny that the 360 fans get bashed on if they post anit-PS3 comments in a "PS3 only" story but an article detailing the academy's 2008 nominations warrant's yet another classic "360's 2009 line-up is piss-poor" comment from good ol' Top.
We get it, you apparently know all of MS' plans for 2009 and have provided the reviews of all the games in advance and have come to the conclusion that they are all "piss-poor". Guess I don't have to worry about reading reviews for the rest of the year. Thanks again Top for yet another insightful look into the future.
What a nice headline.
