Sony said Friday that Media Molecule's highly-anticipated community-focused PS3 game LittleBigPlanet will be hitting Latin and North American retail on October 21.
The company previously announced an October 24 date for the U.K. and Ireland. LittleBigPlanet will also hit Europe, Australia and New Zealand on October 22, while a Japanese release is slated for the week of October 27.
Media Molecule said downloadable content will be arriving on PlayStation Network during the title's opening week, including a free limited edition spacesuit costume for Sackboy (pictured).
Media Molecule intends to move beyond the retail box experience. A statement on the LittleBigPlanet website states, "...This is only the beginning. We won’t be taking it easy just because we have started to manufacture the game!
"Media Molecule and SCE have a long-term commitment towards expanding the world of LittleBigPlanet and working hard to make sure that our fans get amazing new content and features via PlayStation Network."
Yay?
Great news, but as a Hungarian, I'm forced to order the Asian version (due to be released on Oct. 30), because Sony Hungary still couldn't make a PSN Store here. It's funny that I have to pay for my shit on the Hong-Kong store, because the UK and US Stores can't accept Hungarian cards (which is also ridiculous).
Someone please urge them to make the steps necessary. :P
