Killer7 and No More Heroes developer Grasshopper Manufacture has been acquired by Japanese publisher GungHo. Fronted by Goichi ‘Suda 51′ Suda, the studio is currently working on Killer Is Dead (pictured).
GungHo, an online game specialist that has published titles such as Ragnarok Online and Dragon Saga, announced the move on its website, but has yet to supply details on what the acquisition will mean for Grasshopper’s future output.
“Gungho is fusing the planning and development power of Grasshopper Manufacture with the power of managing online games cultivated by both companies to produce higher quality content,” said Gungho in its statement – translated by Gematsu.
In 2011, Grasshopper announced that it was to team up with Japanese company DeNA to develop mobile games exclusively for Gree. It is also currently unclear whether this partnership will be affected.
