Capcom has refused to confirm that Lost Planet 2 will be an Xbox 360 exclusive.
Earlier today Capcom supplied more details on the upcoming title (confirming that it will indeed deliver a co-op multiplayer campaign mode for up to four players).
Yet the publisher was fairly ambiguous regarding which consoles Lost Planet 2 would arrive on. Capcom stated the title is “being developed for the Xbox 360”, but didn’t go as far as say exclusively. Capcom was, however, not shy in reminding that the announcement was delivered “exclusively” on Xbox Live.
Edge contacted Capcom to bring clarity to the situation, yet a representative for the publisher could not take the opportunity to brand the game as an exclusive. “All we can say at this time is that we’ve announced Lost Planet 2 for the 360,” he responded. "That's all I can say."
In September last year Capcom stated that "...all major titles launched during the next fiscal year or thereafter will be developed as multiplatform games.”
You are an amateur. "Monster hunter" of the console version is a minor. Hardware that "Monster hunter" sells a lot is PSP.

Oi Tony wicks, just because Phony ho im not sorry sony is dumb, that doesnt mean capcom should be! actually they realclever, ya wan know why? Caus they know what a unpopular techno bread-bin the partialy sighted3 they couldnt recoup the cost of developing Monster hunter3, what with only 40 or 43 single ps3 out there,so guess what? Some real bright spark thought "whats THEE hottest machine this gen? Wii will make it exclusive!" Pun indeed intended!
You know what guys? Sony should "do a sega" and get out tha console race and develop games for Nintendo and Microsoft...but they SUCK at game development so Nintendo wouldnt give em their "seal of approval" and micrsoft wouldnt even let em have a "Arcade live" slot! So smoke that! ah a a ha ; ) I should grow up but that aint fun! THis is tho>
woah now. Sony may have dropped the ball on PS3, but...I mean, c'mon, the team that made ICO and Shadow of the Collossus? Whenever their next title comes out, I'll admit it, I'll start being envious of PS3 owners.
But maybe the console will actually have a sane price by then.
Why why has NO body mentioned the FACT that ps3 was released with a old graphics card rsx somthing i dont rember but anyway, old gaphics card totaly means the game development teams out there should already know HOWTO and GET the best out of it from DAY ONE of the ps3s release! Couple that with the supposed power of the cell and there shouldnt be a single game that dont have significantly better visuals than 360....but cell is no good at branch code proccessing (that incidently is what computer generated worlds need!) but very good at stream code processing( all that touted power of the cell is not efficient to branch code processing) and that is why the 360 with its then BRAND NEW tech (unified shader, triple core double threaded per core and to top it all is NOT limited 50 50 split of 512 ram between visuals and audio! the devoloper can partision the ram to weigh more visuals ect whilst stream audio from the media) Improments can always be made yes, but...if ps3 does (LIKE sony fanboys say) have more under the hood than the 360, we would have seen that from day one and today it would be PAINFULLY apparently so......however is that really the case? LIE and defend all you like, but you cant fool your selfs on that point! There is a reason why Microsoft left Nvidia in favour of ATI, compare Gamecubes best visuals to last gen xbox best visuals and compare! ON top of that consider the cost of each platform, ATI belts nvdia so bad you should call tha cops! Ps3 is bussin a nvidia by the way ha ha hah what a joke
"In September last year Capcom stated that "...all major titles launched during the next fiscal year or thereafter will be developed as multiplatform games.” "
Which either makes LP2 a minor game, or Capcom a load of liars. Where's my Monster Hunter 3 PSP/ PS3, you fibbing gits?
This will arrive on the PC...in no time. The exclusive is dead now.
Nickgamertag01 is correct.
Last generation the PS2 version would often be released first as a timed-exclusive, and then the original Xbox version would be released--but with better graphics and sound. This meant there was actually a logical reason for people to wait and buy the better version.
But this generation things are very different.
This generation the Xbox 360 version is often released first as a timed-exclusive, and then the PS3 version is released--but with graphics and features that aren't as good as the Xbox 360 version. This means there is actually no logical reason for people to wait and buy the PS3 version, especially when you consider that by the time the PS3 version is released for $59.99 the Xbox 360 version will be selling for only $29 as a best-seller.
Different name....same Kim......*sigh* I miss the caps lock.............and THAT'S a FACT!
He's trying to not look EXACTLY like the Kim of old.
But.........but?
Thank you Kim for that comment, but you're only half agreeing with me. I didn't say a lot of what you said, I just said that last gen the PS2 got some timed exclusives and by the time it came out on the xbox 1 it seemed no one cared. I do think it won't be quite the same this time as the 360 has a more modest lead over the PS3 when compared to the PS2's lead over the Xbox 1 last gen. And I also think the days of multiplatform games on the 360 automatically looking better than their PS3 counterpart is for the most part over.
Who really cares if it is exclusive? It is a competent shooter, but no system seller MS is going to invest money in to retain exclusivity. The PS3 version of the original showed that the Capcom team responsible had "minor" issues bringing the game to PS3, that might not have changed since then. Not that Capcom would admit that. Doing a bad PS3 version might mean loosing as much money as doing no version at all. Why bother making a game that will only get badmouthed?
One could also nag them with questions regarding how they intend to keep up the tension while allowing people to move while shooting.
So let me get this straight. The Lost Planet 2 reveal was announced exclusively on the Xbox 360, Famitsu has a preview today that says for platforms only 360, and then today they put out a PR saying in development for 360 and mention no other platforms. And then this;
IGN
“Capcom declined to comment on whether the game was coming to PC or PS3 when asked by IGN, but reiterated that the game has thus far been announced for Xbox 360 and Xbox 360 only.”
Pretty painfully obvious this is a timed exclusive just like the ones before it. Whether one wants to accept this fact is another story altogether.
Take a hint Edge lol.
It must be a timed-exclusive. I rememeber those days last generation when the PS2 would get timed exclusives it made it seem like by the time the game came out on the xbox 1, no one cared anymore. It's the other way around now (except MS doesn't have as big of a lead over Sony as Sony had over MS last gen, so the delay between launches will probably be smaller.
