The the July-September quarter, EA Sports' Madden NFL 09 was able fend off a videogame fitness craze and even Star Wars.
Madden 09 (released in August) sold 3 million units, topping all other titles worldwide, according to the newly-released Top Global Markets Report, an integrated report from NPD Group in the U.S., GfK Chart-Track in the U.K. and Japan's Enterbrain.
Following Madden was Nintendo's Wii Fit (first released in December 2007) with 2 million sold, LucasArts' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (September) with sales of 1.7 million, Nintendo's Pokemon Platinum (September) with 1.5 million and Mario Kart Wii (April) with 1.4 million.
