Mafia II, Red Dead Redemption Delayed

Both games slip to the first half of fiscal 2010 "to maximise their full potential in terms of the quality of the player experience and market performance."

Take-Two has delayed the releases of Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption to the first half of the 2010 business year.

That means that the 2K Czech developed PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 mob sequel, and Rockstar San Diego’s PS3 and Xbox 360 open-world wild west follow-up, will now launch some time between November 2009 and April 30, 2010. Both games had been expected to hit the market by Christmas of this year, but that is no longer a certainty.

Mafia II and Red Dead Redemption are now scheduled for release in the first half of fiscal 2010 to allow additional development time for the titles and to maximise their full potential in terms of the quality of the player experience and market performance,” the company said in a statement.
