Mario Kart Wii Holds Top Spot in UK Chart

Nintendo’s Brain Training spent a record-breaking 80th week in the All Formats Top 10, beating Tomb Raider’s total of 79 weeks

Mario Kart Wii held onto the All Formats top spot for the second week running in an unchanged top five.

Sales of both Mario Kart Wii and second placed Wii Fit were up 12 percent on the previous week’s total, while Sega’s Olympic duo, Beijing 2008 and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, held onto third and fourth and Wii Play to fifth.

The launch of the DS version of Take Two’s Carnival: Funfair Games saw the title jump seven places to No6, while THQ’s Big Beach Sports was up one place to No7.

At No8, Nintendo’s Brain Training spent a record-breaking 80th week in the All Formats top ten, beating Tomb Raider’s total of 79 weeks.

THQ’s Wall-E was up two places to No9, while Guitar Hero III scooped the final top ten spot.
