Actor Mark Wahlberg has discussed the development of the Uncharted film set to be directed by David O. Russell.
In an interview with MTV, Wahlberg addresses rumours that he is to re-team with long-time collaborator Russell for the film based on developer Naughty Dog’s action-adventure series: “David’s writing now and he is one of the best writer-directors that I’ve ever worked with and the idea that he has is just insane. Hopefully we’ll be making that movie this summer.”
Wahlberg also discusses rumours that Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci will play roles in the film: "I'm obviously in whatever David wants to do but the idea of it is so off the charts: De Niro being my father, Pesci being my uncle. It's not going to be the watered-down version, that's for sure.”
The actor previously played Max Payne in a 2008 videogame adaptation. Wahlberg has previously worked with Russell on Three Kings, I Heart Huckabees and the upcoming boxing drama The Fighter.
