Organisers of a petition pleading with BioWare to change the ending of Mass Effect 3 have raised over $30,000 for gaming charity Child's Play.
The campaign, dubbed Retake Mass Effect 3, has almost 25,000 likes on Facebook and 3,000 followers on Twitter, with a poll on BioWare's forums attracting over 40,000 votes. We won't go into the finer details of their complaints for fear of plot spoilers.
Organisers then started a ChipIn page, which allows supporters of the campaign to donate to Child's Play, the gaming charity which last year raised $3.5 million, which was spent on gaming equipment for sick children in over 70 hospitals worldwide.
"We would like to dispel the perception that we are angry or entitled," organisers write on the cause's ChipIn page. "We simply wish to express our hope that there could be a different direction for a series we have all grown to love."
