Konami has confirmed that the newly announced Metal Gear Solid: Rising will be a multiplatform release.
The game, which was revealed at Microsoft’s E3 press conference but later didn’t feature at Sony’s, will mark the series’ first simultaneous multiplatform release.
“The Metal Gear Solid series has always pushed the bar with its cinematic visuals and entertaining story line,” said Martin Schneider, Konami’s European marketing director. “Now even more gamers can immerse themselves in the franchise and experience the groundbreaking series as Metal Gear Solid: Rising heads to the platform of their choice.”
Good news indeed :D
I my opinion, Konami have been missing out for a long time. Son's of Liberty was just a good on PC back in the day and HiDef long before we talked of 720p, 1080p and 100hz refresh rates.
It's a shame though that other platforms have missed out on all but one of the franchise. Only now do they get one, which may or may not be a completely new type of MGS(which I secretly hope it is) and according to its creator the true follow up to the saga may well be the PSP version Peace walker!
Damn you Hideo-san, why'd you have to tease us so!
Sigh, just give me new IP Konami. I've had enough of this MGS bollocks.
Milked to fucking death, that's what MGS is!
Then, dont buy it, or read about it......
Wow, that's a very, very elegant reply you gave there...well done, give yourself a big pat on the back.
You must be real proud.
I've heard Dead Rising 2 isn't made by Capcom though, but a Canadian team, only being published by Capcom.
I see FF XIV is also going multiplatform - games companies cannot afford to be platform specific with the big games at the mo. The good news is Dead Rising 2 should also come to PS3, yay!
