Animation studio Titmouse Inc. has previously dipped its toes into interactive entertainment, but now the Metalocalypse creator is diving headlong into game development with Titmouse Games.
Titmouse's animators already have had close ties with games, having worked on series such as Avatar: The Last Airbender and Afro Samurai, both of which have made the leap into videogames. The studio is also the animator and "creative force" behind the popular Adult Swim series, Metalocalypse.
Titmouse also created the cinematics for the last four Guitar Hero games and recently completed work on Guitar Hero: Metallica.
Serving as creative director for the game studio is Aaron Habibipour, who worked on Guitar Hero, Darkwatch and Gun.
Titmouse's first game is currently in the works, and is described as a console action RPG called Seven Haunted Seas, a "dark comedic" game that will sport a "mixture of steam-punk and graphic novel-like artwork."
Keith Fay, VP and creative producer at Titmouse Inc. said in a statement, "Titmouse Animation is the worst kept secret in the industry, and we always felt that our super-geek cred and weirdo-but-accessible vibe would apply to the video game world. Aaron is a big, twisted metal-head geek, and he has the experience and the chops to bring a certain juicy deviance to the Titmouse universe."
