In a SquadXP interview with Xbox 360 and Xbox Live product manager Aaron Greenberg this week, he said in passing that there would be no “real” X07 this year. Instead, he said, “We’ll figure out some way to talk about 2008 sometime in a different event or a different type of program.”
The rep was unable to confirm specifics on this alternate event or events, but it seems for now Microsoft is concentrating on its strong slate of holiday titles on a singular basis.
The X0’ events have been Microsoft’s own venue for making big gaming-related announcements. In the years since the event began in 2001, X0’ has revealed news including the original Xbox pricing details, the Rare acquisition, Xbox Live, the partnership with Epic Games and the new Xbox branding.
