At the Tokyo Game Show today Microsoft and Sony offered some details about the publishers and games that will support their upcoming motion sensing technologies.

“Among the elite publishers actively working on games for Project Natal" are Activision Blizzard, Bethesda, Capcom, Disney Interactive, Electronic Arts, Konami, MTV Games, Namco Bandai, Sega, Square Enix, THQ and Ubisoft, said Microsoft.

According to Gizmodo, Sony revealed working titles for a number of first party motion control titles:

Ape Escape (Working Title)
Echochrome 2 (Working Title)
Eccentric Slider (Working Title)
Sing And Draw (Working Title)
Champions Of Time (Working Title)
Motion Party (Working Title)
The Shoot (Working Title)
Tower (Working Title)

In addition, the PS3 motion controller will be compatible with a number of existing games including LittleBigPlanet, EyePet, Flower, Pain, High Velocity Bowling "and more". A Resident Evil 5: Director’s Cut edition is being built to take advantage of the new controller too.

I was hoping to see Red Alert 3 in that list of compatible games. The new motion controller would be great for RTS games and it's a genre I sorely miss on console.

Echochrome controls were inaccurate enough without needing motion controls to make it harder.

The info about existing PS3 software that will be made compatible is mildly interesting, but otherwise this is just more vapor from both companies.

When you have playable software to show, show it. Until then, SHUT UP with your vaporous bullshit.

I was mildly hoping the PS3 wand/dildo thing would allow keyboard/mouse style game play due to their demo suggesting as such. However the first party titles literally seem like casual gaming crap we've come to know and loathe from Nintendo.

Or so it would seem from the working titles. *eyeroll* Shouldn't both companies have had a few hundred countdown clocks for announcements of this MAGNITUDE?

Will take a wait and see attitude with Sony and MS' offerings. Seeing how much shovelware is on the Wii, I can't see these being too different to begin with. The Wii has been out a few years and I've yet to play a game that is better than a game played with a standard joypad. Soon as I started playing Twilight Princess I yearned for a Wavebird to play it with.

I think Natal is the new Xbox. The 360 has reached year five in its lifespan; now the next thing is coming from Microsoft. They will switch from core gaming slightly and invest heavily into Natal, launch a totally re-designed and re-marketed Xbox that looks nothing like the 360 and just state it has B/C and be done with the past.

Possibly, like Nintendo did with the Wii/ Gamecube. Personally i think they should do both, an add on and an all in one unit.

I like reading the enthusiasm Japanese developers have for Natal. Their extremely excited about.

The fact that Natal is coming to the PC too, seems to suggest MS have huge plans for this peripheral (well they did say it's launch would be as big as the 360 itself).

Yet saying that, content is king and the peripheral will only be as good as the software developed for it.

The general consensus is that in terms of windows it would make a nice interface tool to replace touch screen which is notoriously sketchy. I can see it being good for strategy games as well.

Shouldnt they be sorting out the hundreds of other problems with windows before developing a new way of moving a cursor about
