Swedish financial filings have revealed that Mojang raked in $80 million (£50.4m) in revenues in the 15 months following Minecraft’s launch.
The indie world-building hit helped the company net earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation of $13.5 million (£8.5m) during the period, according to the Financial Times.
Minecraft has been downloaded more than 25 million times, with the full PC version selling over five million copies. It is also available on Android and iOS devices and will launch on Xbox 360 on May 9.
Mojang CEO Carl Manneh told us in January that the company has three unannounced projects in the works, and that two of them will be revealed, if not released, in the first half of the year.
