The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft has surpassed one million sales in less than a week, Microsoft has announced.
Developed by 4J Studios in conjunction with Mojang and Microsoft Studios, the game released on May 9 for 1600 Microsoft Points (£13.71) and went on to break the day-one XBLA sales record set last month by RedLynx's Trials Evolution.
Minecraft creator Markus Persson labelled early sales data "very, very good", claiming that the title had become "profitable in an hour".
Since launch, Xbox 360 gamers have racked up over 5.2 million hours of online play and four million multiplayer sessions.
In March, the PC version of Minecraft reached 25 million registered users and 5.3 million sales.
