Activision’s Modern Warfare 2 has recorded “by far the biggest ever launch of any game” in the UK, selling 1.78m units in five days and generating £67.4 million, according to GfK Chart-Track.
The game grossed almost twice as much as the entire entertainment software market during the week ended November 14, with the Xbox 360 version alone moving over one million copies, according to the sales tracker.
Elsewhere on the chart, Wii Sports Resort climbed one place to second and FIFA 10 dropped one to third. The previous week’s bestseller, Wii Fit Plus, fell three spots to fourth, while Forza Motorsport 3 rounded off the top five.

Wrong topic...
when you buy an Xbox arcade you get pure, lego batman and an extra controller for free.
I'd be intrigued to see the MW2 sales by platform. Can't seem to find them through that link though.
Anybody know why Pure's snuck into the top 10? It's a pretty good game (I suck at it), but it's about a year old now, is it not?

What's poingant here isn't the xbox / ps3 figures, but how dire the PC figures are. Looked like the PC community really voted passionately with their wallets against the exclusion of dedicated servers in what's turned out to be a glorious online multiplayer game.
