Following last month’s announcement that it had acquired the rights to develop and publish a Monty Python social game, UK-based studio Zattikka is taking registrations for beta testers.
The official website for the Ministry Of Silly Games describes the project as “the first Monty Python game for 13 years, and the first ever to allow multiple players to personalise and interact with a whole new world of Python.”
The social and casual game developer says the game will be free for Facebook users and will “introduce a host of new mini-games which bring the Monty Python characters, sketches and locations to life like never before.”
Zattikka’s game marks the first title to be based on the characters since a run of CD-ROM games by US-developer 7th Level in the mid ‘90s.
In a Eurogamer report, Monty Python founder Terry Gilliam says: "For years, people have wondered what it would be like to catapult livestock at French fortresses or play Russian Roulette with an Upper Class Twit," adding that the new game “looks like what was inside my head when I was creating all that iconic imagery."
A set of screenshots published on the official website reveal a few of the mini-games.
