Monumental Games Restructures

Company appoints studio heads for three newly formed divisions as it looks to capitalise on new business opportunities and technological developments.

UK-based independent developer Monumental Games has appointed studio heads for three newly formed divisions as it looks to capitalise on new business opportunities and technological developments.

Headed by Michael Delves, formerly of Hasbro and Acclaim, Monumental Conversion and Emerging Technologies will work on future technology developments within gaming such as motion controllers and augmented reality.

Long-term Monumental employee Gylan Hunter has been chosen to head up Monumental Online, which will develop the Monumental Technology Suite and existing MMO games Football Superstars and Hunters World.

Meanwhile, ex-Sega and EA man Andy Norman will lead Monumental Racing as it continues work on Capcom’s Moto GP franchise, and further develops Monumental’s racing technology capabilities.

“Basing our business around our three core competencies reinforces our commitment to these key areas,” said Rik Alexander, CEO of Monumental Games. “This approach puts us in a strong position to capitalise on growth opportunities in each area, improving internal focus and providing a clearer representation of our business.”
