After a short period of platform exclusivity on Xbox 360, Harmonix has announced release dates for Rock Band 2 on PS3, PS2 and Wii, as well as ship dates for standalone peripherals.
The PS3 version of the Rock Band 2 Special Edition bundle will ship in North America on October 19 for $189. Shipping that same day is the standalone PS3 software ($59), drums (PS2, PS3 $89) and guitar (PS3, PS2 $69).
At an unspecified date in December, the full bundle is slated to arrive for Wii for $189, alongside standalone Rock Band 2 software ($49), drums ($89) and guitar ($69).
The Nintendo version of the game improves on the original Rock Band for Wii, as gamers will be able to download new songs, just as PS3 and Xbox 360 owners have been able to do since the franchise launched. Harmonix said the Wii's song library will catch up to PS3 and Xbox 360's with weekly store updates "until the entire back catalogue is available."
Standalone PS2 software will also launch in December.
Rock Band 2 for Xbox 360 released on September 14 this year.
Since November 2007, the Rock Band online store has sold over 21 million paid song downloads, according to MTV-owned Harmonix.
