Uncharted developer Naughty Dog has announced The Last Of Us, a PlayStation 3-exclusive survival adventure, at the Spike Videogame Awards.
A press release describes the game as "a genre-defining experience that blends survival and action elements to tell a character-driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague."
Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells said: "We are excited to finally unveil The Last Of Us, a project the team has been working on for some time. Naughty Dog's mission is to change the way people experience videogames.
"We are confident that The Last Of Us will take a leap forward in cinematic gaming and storytelling, providing gamers with an experience unlike anything else in the industry."
Development is being directed by Bruce Straley with Neil Druckmann, lead designer on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, serving as creative director. No release date was announced.
