NBA 2K9 Also Made Fresh Daily

2K Sports' next basketball title will have up-to-the-minute updates similar to EA Sports' NBA Live 09.

At E3 in July, EA Sports announced "Dynamic DNA," an evolutionary step for connected sports gaming that would allow not only roster updates, but also daily updates to individual player and team tendencies to reflect real-life NBA happenings.

EA Sports' tagline for the feature is "Made Fresh Daily."

But 2K Sports said Monday that it too will be offering "constant updates to player ratings and player tendencies" in NBA 2K9.

In addition, NBA 2K9 will feature unlockable animation packages for up-and-coming NBA players who show significant improvement during the real-life season.

Updates can be set to be automatic, or gamers can choose when to update manually.

2K Sports also said that it has assigned staff (the "NBA 2K Insider") to interact with the game's community and check the accuracy of Living Roster stats.

NBA 2K9 is slated for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PS2 on October 7.
