Korean MMOG specialist NCsoft has confirmed that Unreal Engine 4 will power its future titles after it signed a longterm deal with Epic Games.
NCsoft is the first Korean studio to license Unreal Engine 4, a statement from the company says. Unreal Engine 2 powered NCsoft’s first big hit Lineage II, a title which remains popular in Korea today.
“Unreal Engine 4 is an extremely fascinating game engine in terms of its unprecedented efficiency and performance,” said NCsoft chief product officer James Bae. “We plan to release our best game ever using our Unreal Engine expertise and the new state-of-the-art Unreal Engine 4 tools.”
