An edited version of World War One shooter Necrovision has been granted an M rating by Australia’s Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC), clearing the game for release in the country.
Developed by Polish studio The Farm 51, the supernatural first-person shooter was originally refused classification on the grounds of the game containing excessive violence.
But, according to Games On Net, the title's release has now been approved following a series of graphical changes which saw blood spray replaced by "a grey dust effect.”
Necrovision was the first game to receive a ban in Australia this year. Last year five titles (Shellshock 2: Blood Trails, Silent Hill: Homecoming, Dark Sector, F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin and Fallout 3) were refused classification by the OFLC, although a number of those decisions were later overturned following appeals and content changes.
