After ten years of taking the series from concept to global success, Neversoft’s president Joel Jewett has announced the studio will no longer be working on the Tony Hawk series.
"It's probably best for the franchise,” said Jewett, speaking to Montana daily newspaper Great Falls Tribune, “it's time for someone else to add fresh ideas to it." Neversoft will now focus its work solely on the Guitar Hero series.
It is suspected that the Tony Hawk games will now be the responsibility of upstart developer Robomodo – an outfit formed from the closures of EA Chicago and Studio Gigante. Robomodo had previously announced that it was working on "a high-profile extreme sports title for Activision Blizzard."
Activision has not made any announcements on the matter, Edge has approached the publisher for comment.

aka. "Skate has us beat."?
Still have a soft-spot for Tony in my heart, though. Will always be willing to check out both titles, since Tony always fuelled the completionist in me, as well as the copious amounts of murderous rage I would feel after spending over an hour on one challenge run. Just hoping this doesn't further burn it to the ground. Which it almost certainly will.
