Activision has announced that the second map pack for Call Of Duty: World At War was downloaded over one million times in the space of three days.
Featuring four new maps, the Treyarch developed DLC launched last Thursday via Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Store for 800 MS Points/£7.99.
The first map pack for the game sold a million copies in four days, and has since surpassed two million downloads.
In a recent financial earnings call, Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith spoke of the growing importance of downloadable content. “Beyond direct accretive revenue generation, this extends our shelf life, helping to insulate us from the used game market and in turn allowing us to hold pricing longer,” he said.
Activision is making lots of money? Who knew!
