Cambridge, U.K.-based Runescape developer Jagex has appointed Mark Gerhard as CEO, taking the place of Geoff Iddison, who resigned last month, the company said Friday.
A press statement did not go into detail regarding the reason for Iddison's resignation, although the exec commented, "It was great to be part of a business which is shaping the industry in such a way.”
Gerhard will officially take the company's reins on February 2. He is currently serving as chief technical officer.
Jagex is the company behind the popular free-to-play casual MMO Runescape, and the gaming portal FunOrb.
