Codemasters bolsters brand
Codemasters announced today that it has commissioned the brand consultancy agency Branded to help develop its corporate brand identity.
"The challenge for us is to ensure that Codemasters fully exploits all the opportunities in the digital world to stay ahead of the game," said Branded COO Giles Thomas.
Lara’s got a new voice
Contrary to recent reports, The Mummy actress Rachel Weisz will not be providing the voice for Lara Croft in Eidos’ upcoming Tomb Raider: Legend. Instead, British actress Keeley Hawes, who played Tamara in 1998′s The Avengers, has been assigned the duty.
Hooligans staged GameStop robbery
Well, we started following this story, so let’s bring it full circle.
Last week, we reported that a couple of masked hooligans robbed an Algonquin Illinois GameStop outlet of cash and an Xbox 1 at gunpoint.
Now, the Online Pioneer Press reports that Joseph M. VonEssen, 20, one of the alleged thieves, actually knew GameStop employee Michael K. Barry, 18. The two fabricated the stick-up to get their hands on the console and what police speculate to be thousands of dollars in cash.
Barry was charged with theft and disorderly conduct for filing a false police report, and VonEssen was charged with theft and conspiracy to commit theft. Both were being held on bond early this week in the amounts of $15,000 and $50,000, respectively. Court dates were scheduled for this week.
