Nintendo will release the Metallic Silver DS in North America on September 7.

The silver handheld, which was released in Europe and Japan last year, “makes a nice addition to any tech collection, whether you're a gadget hipster or fashionista”, according to Nintendo.

The new model will be the subject of a print ad campaign featuring actress Liv Tyler and set gamers back $129.99 when it hits the market.

We reckon it will be the ninth DS available in the US upon its release, alongside the Cobalt/Black, Polar White, Coral Pink, Onyx Black and Crimson/Black versions, and limited-edition Gold, Metallic Rose and Pokemon packs.
