Nokia closed its Vancouver, Canada-based N-Gage development studio on June 30.
The studio was responsible for mobile adaptations of franchises including Tiger Woods PGA Tour, Call Of Duty and Tony Hawk, reports Develop.
The fate of the 100 plus staff from the Vancouver studio is currently unclear, according to the site. We’ve contacted Nokia for further information.
Back in March Nokia announced plans to axe 1,700 jobs worldwide as part of a cost cutting-drive. A month later 450 staff were cut from the company’s mobile services division.
Mark Ollila, director of technology and strategy at Nokia Games Publishing, gave us an update on the state of N-Gage, and Nokia’s gaming plans, in an interview published last month.
