Now New Jersey Ponders Game Laws

New Jersey has joined the list of States proposing fines for retailers selling grown-up games to kids.

State assembly members Linda Stender and Jon Bramnick have
proposed a system of fines for retailers selling adult-rated games to
consumers under the age of 18. They are asking legislators for a $50
fine for a first offense, $100 for a second and $250 for all subsequent
offenses.

A similar system has passed into law in Michigan, while one was passed in California earlier this month, but is awaiting ratification from Governor Schwarzenegger. All such laws are strongly opposed by various industry groups.
