The NPD Group has provided us with full year 2009 console sales data for the US market.
Nintendo platforms were well ahead of the competition, with DS and Wii hitting 11.22 million and 9.6 million sales respectively.
Microsoft’s Xbox 360 sold 4.77 million units, narrowly beating PS3’s 4.33million sales.
Sony’s PSP sold 2.5 million units in 2009.

Earlier today the NPD Group also revealed the top ten selling console and PC titles in the US market during 2009, as well December 2009 and full year games industry sales data.
