The NPD Group has released data showing the top ten selling titles at US retail between January and November 2009.
According to information provided to Industry Gamers, Modern Warfare 2 for Xbox 360 is the best selling title year to date, having shifted 4.2 million copies last month.
Nintendo published games dominate the list, taking four of the top five places and six of the top ten. As the site points out, these titles sold 13.5 million units combined, representing over 58 per cent of top ten sales.
Here’s the list, ranked by units sold on an individual SKU level:
01. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360, Activision) - 4.2m
02. Wii Fit (Wii, Nintendo) - 3.5m
03. Wii Sports Resort (Wii, Nintendo) - 2.4m
04. Wii Mario Kart (Wii, Nintendo) - 2.2m
05. Wii Play (Wii, Nintendo) - 2.1m
06. Halo 3: ODST (Xbox 360, Microsoft) - 2m
07. Pokemon Platinum Version (DS, Nintendo) 1.9m
08. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PS3, Activision) - 1.9m
09. Madden NFL 10 (Xbox 360, EA) - 1.5m
10. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii, Nintendo) - 1.4m
NPD analyst Anita Frazier also said via Twitter that the top five videogame properties year to date in terms of dollar sales are Call Of Duty, Wii Fit, Mario Bros., Guitar Hero and Rock Band.
