Oculus VR and IndieCade have teamed up for VR Jam, a three-week gamejam focused on creating new game prototypes for Oculus Rift.
The organisers are offering over $50,000 in prizes during the jam, which begins on August 2. VR Jam aims “to foster creativity and ingenuity among independent game developers,” says the announcement.
Entries will be judged by the organisers, and will fall into two categories – ‘Selected Developers’, a group of up to 10 selected indies, and an ‘Open Call’ category, which invites all registered Oculus Rift developers to compete for the top prize. $10,000 will be given to the winners of each category, with other prizes amounting to a total $50,000 prizefund.
The finalists will be announced on September 13, with winners confirmed on September 19 ahead of Indiecade on October 3-6. Studios interested in taking part can find more details on the Oculus site.
