Street Fighter X Tekken producer Yoshinori Ono has said that the Wii U announced and shown off at last year's E3 was far from the finished article, and that the final version of Nintendo's Wii successor has "many unique possibilities."
Speaking to 3D Juegos, translated by a NeoGaf user, Ono said: "What was shown at E3 is not a reflection of everything that this console is going to be able to offer. We have been trying the development kits and some of its new characteristics will improve its possibilities.
"It isn't something like Kinect or similar accessories, it's something different.
"I can't tell you more about it because, if I do, Nintendo will send assassins to finish me! But let's say that Wii U will be a console with so many unique possibilities that it will be difficult to show them in the box they are going to sell it in, or be published in magazines and other media."
That the final Wii U will be changed from its E3 incarnation is no surprise - reports last year revealed that Nintendo was working on multi-controller support as well as striving to improve RAM and processor speed.
But Ono's reference to the box, and media, being unable to convey the device's unique features is intriguing. We've heard this before, in the run-up to the release of 3DS, when Nintendo acknowledged it faced a struggle to market the device's USP through traditional media.
Meanwhile, Satoru Iwata has confirmed to Reuters that Wii U will be released not only in Japan but North America, Europe and Australia before the end of the year.

5My money is on smell-o-gaming.
Thats not a disc drive on the front of the Wii U but a slit made up of hundreds of spray nozzels which will spray various amounts of chemicals into a users face to recreate the smell of the in game world.
Be it Burnt mushrooms as Bowser invades the Mushroom Kingdom, Eponas shit or the sweaty ass of your very own Mii playing baseball.
Either that or 3D
3D has already been confirmed. Maybe they'be built in the Vitality Sensor thingy into the controller. Would be nice if they've added in multi-touch on the screen though.
Ok cool, had no ideea 3D was confirmed.
If it is Vitality sensor I hope they dont expect anyone to get too excited.
Either you genuinely mean that people won't care about biometric gameplay or that was a witty joke about people's pulses increasing.
On a serious note, I very much doubt that's what Ono means. I would imagine he's simply referring to the machine's increased processing power and/or memory and possibly its added ability to stream to two controllers at once. However, the thought of a built-in Vitality Sensor and the possibilies of a Project Zero game (i.e. your pulse effects your charcters ability to hold the camera steady thus affecting the clarity of the image on the controller) is simply mouthwatering.
Wii U - now not rubbish!
