Out There: Doing good with games

But what's 'good'? Plus The Simpsons in Minecraft.

Last week, someone asked the Games For Change community how best to market a free web game game designed to promote careers in the nuclear energy industry. "Heated and lively discussion" ensued, according to the Experience Points blog, because nuclear power is not exactly in fashion these days, the assumption being that the 'change' in 'games for change' is meant to be good. And if that's true, what is good, anyway? Is nuclear energy really, actually, bad? Next up for debate - making games that do good, and are good.

Evidently taking time out from designing his own line of leather underwear, The Room director, writer and actor Tommy Wiseau has started a series of videogame shows, the Tommy Wi-Show. Turns out he's not awfully good at Mortal Kombat. Following Newgrounds co-founder Tom Fulp's The Room Tribute Flash game, it seems further evidence that Wiseau is unfortunately destined for bigger things in the field.
