PAX Attendance Hits 67,600

US Consumer show draws record number of visitors; organisers suggest future events are likely to take place in a different country.

The seventh annual PAX Prime conference drew 67,600 visitors, up 7,000 on last year's attendance figure.

The strong showing at last week's fan-themed event in Seattle - where Gearbox’s work on Duke Nukem Forever was revealed - confirmed that PAX remains the single biggest US-based consumer show devoted to PC and console games, according to Big Download.

The minds behind the expo, Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins, also told Gamasutra that the PAX franchise may be expanding, hinting that future events will ‘likely take place in a different country; preferably somewhere the duo want to visit’, according to the site.
