Sega’s Phantasy Star Universe Portable racked up 148,000 sales to retain the top spot on the Japanese software chart during the week ended August 10.

Narrowly missing out on a chart topping debut was Nintendo's DS title Fire Emblem, which sold 145,000 copies, while Rhythm Heaven Gold fell one place to No3.

Namco Bandai's Tales of Vesperia for Xbox 360 was a new entry at No4 with 108,000 units sold, while former bestseller Dragon Quest V, which dropped two places to No5, surpassed one million sales.

Sega's Sangokushi Taisen Ten and Namco Bandai's Summon Night 2, both for DS, were new entries in sixth and seventh respectively, followed by Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii and the PS3 version of Soul Calibur 4.
