You don't think the Japanese would like Soul Calibur? I thought fighting games were popular over there. Obviously not in the same league as JRPGs, but then again, what is? I, for one, agree with Kim_Naroz, I was very surprised to see such a close margain in the sales figures. But, maybe they don't like the Soul Calibur franchise over there much anymore? Or, maybe they're less fond of fighting games since the days of Street Fighter? Could be any number of things. Personally, i'm just surprised to see ANY 360 game in the Top 10 in Japan.

Sales numbers like those prove that the Playstation 3 is doing almost as poorly in Japan as the Xbox 360. The fact that Soul Caliber 4 on the PS3 outsold the Xbox 360 by a 2:1 margin is a disappointing thing when you consider that the Xbox 360 has sold so poorly in Japan due to the fact that Japanese people are not interested in buying foreign videogame systems.

I don't think that's necessarily true. You should wait until JRPGs (or other games that Japanese people really like) to make that assumption. The results will clearly be different when FFXIII and FFXIII-Versus come out. I'm sure they will sell a ton of those games on the PS3 in Japan.
