The Playful conference is set to return to London later this month with another diverse range of talks about games and play.
Eclectic and all about videogames’ fringes, “it’s a day about play, games, innovation, education, feelings, dealings, and minds reeling,” according to organiser and games consultancy Pixel-Lab.
“Sceptical futuryst Stuart Candy will introduce the event via a video link from the future…Nine year-old Beatrice Davy-Sutherland will present her video interviews with Moshi Monsters creators Mind Candy, and Club Penguin, and be interviewed by writer Leila Johnston about how games help her learn about the world.
“London agency Frukt team up with one of the web’s best music hosts Soundcloud, to present the best musical mashups the web has seen; Roo Reynolds and Leila Johnston will record a live edition of their Shift,Run,Stop podcast on stage and interview Gamesmaster and XFM Scotland presenter Dominik Diamond; Musician, journalist, and author of The Play Ethic Pat Kane will tell us how he got his sense of humour back; and illustrator Richard Hogg will delve into his contrary and spiteful ways, and reveal how they benefit his life.”
£50 tickets for the event, taking place at Conway Hall on Friday September 24, can be purchased on the official Playful website.
