The newest DS Pokémon instalments, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, have sold over 1.4 million copies within two days of releasing in Japan.
Having launched on September 12, the titles have already sold out across various retailers, moving 1,408,980 units, according to Famitsu (via Kotaku).
The games are DS remakes of Pokémon Gold and Silver, which originally released for the Game Boy Color in 2000 and have since gone on to sell 23 million copies worldwide.
Set for release in the US and Europe in spring 2010, HeartGold and SoulSilver feature updated graphics and sound as well as new touch screen features. The pair also come packaged with pedometers called Poké Walkers in Japan.
