Pokémon Reclaims Top Spot In Japan

Pokémon Heart Gold/Soul Silver returned to the top of the Japanese all formats chart during the week ended October 11.

The DS remakes of 2000’s Game Boy Color titles Pokémon Gold and Silver have now racked up almost 2.5 million sales since launching on September 12.

Last week’s best-seller, Wii Fit Plus, dropped to number two with 152 000 sales, one place ahead of the week’s highest new entry, Atlus’ DS RPG Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, which debuted in third with 97,000 sales.

DS sports RPG Inazuma Eleven 2 dropped two places to fourth, while Tomodachi Collection was up one to fifth.

Gran Turismo slipped two spots to sixth in its second week on the chart, Wii Sports Resort climbed one place to seventh, while Macross Ultimate Frontier fell three to eighth.

Love Plus and Dragon Quest IX re-entered the top ten in ninth and tenth respectively.
