Pokémon And PSP Back On Top In Japan

The latest Media Create charts have a familiar look to them, with Pokémon back at the summit of the software charts and PSP the week’s best-selling hardware.

Andriasang reports that typing tutor Battle And Get! Pokémon Typing DS shoots straight in at the top of the chart, with over 59,000 units sold in its first week on sale. Last week’s number one, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 Professional, slips back to third place.

There are plenty of new entries elsewhere, with Namco Bandai’s latest Detective Conan tie-in, Aoki Houseki No Ronbukyoku, the highest, making its debut at number five. Sony’s Socom 4, which failed to make the top ten in the UK following its release last week, enters the chart in seventh.

In the hardware charts, PSP returns to the top after being outsold by 3DS last week. It sold 49,162 units, more than double its sales from the previous week, with 3DS in second place after 23,038 systems were sold.
