Developer Mythic Entertainment and Electronic Arts have pinned down a date for their highly-anticipated MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.
Virginia-based Mythic will open WAR's North American, European and Oceanic servers on September 18.
EA said the game has been in development for three years.
The game will adopt a multi-tiered subscription model: $14.99 monthly, $41.97 for three months ($13.99 per month) or $77.94 for six months ($12.99 per month).
Pre-ordering customers will receive a package including open beta admission, the "Head Start" program (allows players to begin playing before the official launch), bonus in-game items and a collectible card game.
"For the last three years, the entire team at Mythic has poured their hearts into making Warhammer Online the next great MMORPG," said Mythic general manager Mark Jacobs in a statement.
Analyst Arvind Bhatia with Stern Agee said in a follow-up investor note Wednesday, "This announcement puts to rest any lingering doubts about the launch of the game this year."
He added, "At E3, [EA] indicated that a subscriber base in the mid 200k’s would be 'break even' and while the game has all the elements of a successful MMO, it is difficult to project subscriber numbers prior to launch."
