Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has revealed a deal with online music video service VidZone that will allow the console to offer free music video content in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

According to the statement out of Leipzig Games Convention Wednesday, VidZone will begin offering the free steaming content through the PS3 in early 2009 via a trial service. This content will also be available on PSP via the PS3’s Remote Play functionality.

The console service will provide the features currently available in VidZone’s online service, including user-created playlists and personalization options. The option to download songs, ring tones and music videos through the service for a fee will also be offered.

The SCEE statement on the deal also reconfirmed the division’s commitment to providing a “comprehensive film, TV, and music download service at a later date.”
